Carter Day ACJ2 Indent separators – 4 available
Specifications
Indent separator with 60 inch drums
The Carter Day Uniflow Length Grader is an indented cylinder machine used to separate and size free-flowing granular materials, cereal grains, and seeds by length.
How It Works
• Indented Cylinders: Rotating horizontal or vertical cylinders are lined on the inside with precision-engineered pocket indents.
• Centrifugal Force & Gravity: As the cylinder rotates, shorter particles fit into and are lifted by the indent pockets until gravity causes them to tumble out. Longer particles fail to fit or drop back down into the main product mass.
• Adjustable Trough: Lifted short materials fall into an internal catch trough. The operator adjusts the angle or tilt of this trough’s separating edge to define the exact “cut point” for the separation.
• Discharge: A built-in screw conveyor (auger) moves the separated short material out separately from the tailed long material.
Key Features & Configurations
• Modular Uniflow: Vertical configurations ranging from 2 to 5 cylinders high allow for flexible single-pass or multi-stage length grading.
• Segmented Design: Cylinders use three equal segments joined by solid bars with precision sizer shells.
• Applications: Commonly used to remove broken kernels, weed seeds, or short foreign materials from main crops like wheat, oats, and canola.
